How to Come Up With AI Short Drama Ideas

The story shape that works for 30–60 second dramas, conflicts by genre, the four-beat structure and endings that make people want the next episode.

Updated October 23, 2026

A short drama is "first 3 seconds + one twist"

A 30–60 second drama doesn't need a long story. Hook curiosity in the first three seconds, add one twist in the middle, and end so viewers want the next episode.

Conflicts that work by genre

  • Revenge: the person everyone ignored turns out to be the real heir. The reveal is everything.
  • Romance: a misunderstanding, the moment before goodbye, a confession cut short.
  • Thriller: a strange noise, a changed door code, an unknown photo.
  • Family: a hidden pain or sacrifice comes out.
  • Sci-fi and fantasy: one strange event breaks into an ordinary day.

Build it in four beats

  1. Opening: one scene that shows the situation and people, like "a letter in her husband's coat".
  2. Conflict: it blows up. Someone misjudges or corners someone.
  3. Twist: one fact that flips the conflict. It should grow out of the conflict.
  4. Ending: a satisfying payoff, or a door opens to the next episode.

End so they want more

Put a new voice, a ringing phone or a knowing smile in the last cut. As a series, it builds subscribers.

Pick a path and build it now

In the scenario builder, choose genre → cast → place → opening → conflict → twist → ending like picking paths. The twists change with your conflict, and 🎲 can fill in the rest. When it's done you get per-cut AI video prompts, a script and thumbnail text at once.
