Why does dialogue in my AI video sound rushed?
AI video models generate fixed clip lengths such as 5, 15 or 30 seconds. When a line needs more time than the clip, the model squeezes the speech to fit, so it sounds rushed or garbled. Too little dialogue causes the opposite problem: the model may fill the silence with lines you never wrote.
How is the timing calculated?
Spoken words are divided by your speaking rate. Then Cut Maker adds 0.3s for each period, question mark or exclamation mark, 0.15s for each comma, 0.5s for each ellipsis, the time of any actions, 0.3s for each speaker change and a short breath at the start and end of the cut. A cut that uses up to 90% of the clip is marked Fits.
What speaking rate should I use?
The default of 2.3 words per second is about 140 words per minute, a calm acted delivery. Generate a few clips, compare them with the estimates, and move the slider until they match. Fast, energetic characters may need 2.8 or more.
Which models are supported?
Seedance 2.5 (any length from 4 to 30 seconds), Seedance 2.0 (4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 seconds), Kling 3.0 (any length from 3 to 15 seconds) and a simple 5s/10s option for tools with only those two lengths.
How does the credit estimate work?
Enter what your video tool charges, per second or per clip. Cut Maker shows the cost of the whole plan and the credits at risk: the cost of every cut marked Over, which will likely come out rushed and need to be generated again. Tight cuts are counted separately because they may still work. It is an estimate, not a guarantee.
What does Smart Clean do?
It turns messy text into the Name: line format. It removes chat timestamps and subtitle numbers, strips quote marks, converts screenplay-style names and "Name - line" formats, and turns story narration into scene actions so the model does not read it aloud. Click it again to undo.
Can I translate the subtitles?
Yes, on desktop Chrome 138+ and Edge 148+. Cut Maker uses the translator built into the browser, so nothing is sent to a server. You can pick from 20 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish and Arabic. The first time you use a language, the browser downloads its translation model. Timings stay the same; only the text changes. Phones, Safari and Firefox do not support it yet.
Can I translate an SRT file I already have?
Yes. Click "Translate an SRT" or use Import in the preview to open an .srt or .vtt file, or paste the subtitles. Timings stay as they are, and Cut Maker points out missing numbers, broken timecodes and subtitles that overlap the one before.
Do you have safe-zone guides for Shorts, TikTok and Reels?
Yes, free. The layout guides page has a 1080×1920 guide for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels and one that is safe on all three. Each guide marks the top and bottom areas covered by the app, the right-side buttons, and a fixed hook text box. Download it as a transparent PNG layer or as a reference sheet.
How do I use the guide PNG in my editor?
Put the transparent PNG on the top track above your video in CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or any editor, and stretch it to fill the frame. Keep titles inside the hook box and important visuals out of the shaded areas. Hide or delete the layer before you export.
Is my script uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your script is saved only in your own browser so it is still there next time.
